no oil presssure after oil pump change

was driving my motorhome, heard ticking sounds, noticed oil pressure gauge at zero, killed engine and coasted to stop. Pulled oil pan - bearings were just starting to wipe. Replaced all main and rod bearings. Replaced oil pump with stock unit. Oil pressure barely comes up off zero still (used 2 different gauges to make sure reading was correct).

What else could be causing this problem????????? I had done no mods to motor prior to the initial problem. Only thing "odd" was that the motor hadn't been run very often and had pretty dirty/sludgy oil.

Need help quick - want to take motorhome hunting in 10 days!!!!!
Thanks!

I've had this happen in 2 separate engines, one with high lift cam which I can understand, but the other was stock. Why does the 429/460 seem prone to this?

Unhappy Why?

I got the head off and the valve is stuck solid. I really have no clues as to why... other than on this motorhome the previous owner lived in the motorhome in humid seattle washington and didn't drive it much - it's only got 73,000 miles on it. THere was some rust in the oil pan and on the pick-up strainer when I pulled it, so I'm guessing that maybe the valve guide was getting galled and then siezed?????? Dunno.
