Winter question?

Does anyone have any recommendations on partailly covering or not covering the grill openings during real cold weather? The low around here is usually around freezing but can get down in the 20's in January.

Don't bother. I drove all last year in the mountains in temps from -5 to 35 and never had a issue. I did run [and still do]Stanadyne Perfomance Fomula in the diesel to prevent Jelling, water issues, and to lube the injectors.

With the temps you'll encounter in the winter don't worry about it.

Ford is pretty emphatic in the manual about leaving it alone. It even has a fuel heater in the tank, apparently.

When I drive to Colorado in February every year it gets as low as -20 and usually north of Amarillo the radiator is covered in a few inches of ice and I never have had a problem with it warming up. Just plug it in over night and your good to go.

Leave what alone? I lost your reference. A fuel heater in the tank?

Here in Southwest Michigan we get colder and we do not need to restrict the air-flow. As for plugging in; do it when it gets down to about 10 and then for a few hours. Will start without plugging in just takes longer to get to operating temp. At zero plug in for 6-8 hours.
Hope this helps you.
