MAF conversion

the plugs for the unused injector wires are just to keep out dirt and water so you can take the system back out I guess. I installed a 302 H.O. and used the maf convesion, but cut out the old injector wires to clean up look.

Thats not a bad idea. Maybe over the winter I will look into that. But for now I would like to install the plugs, just for the hell of it.
Does anybody have one that they could post a pic? I'm not even sure what they look like. I was told to use a spout connector ....the one you remove when you sent your timing.
Any thoughts on this guys?

I wouldn't use a spout connector - I think it is a different plug anyway. When the computer tries to fire the two injectors on those two circuits, the current will go through the jumpers instead of firing the injectors, so two cylinders won't get any fuel. Just tape over the connectors to keep dirt out, and that should be good enough.

The ECM that comes with the MAF conv. kit is programmed to adjust fuel/ spark advance for add ons like cams, heads, headers, mass air sens., manifolds, ect.. So it should handle most mods. I used matched 19lb injectors (Ford racing) and haven't had any fuel starvation problems.

I know they make em for the 5.8, you can call/e-mail ford racing and they can give you application advice. I got mine through holcomb motorsports, but in the last summit racing cat. i got had them in it too.

I have never seen a kit for the 460's but I think you can make one work. I am looking into this as well but have not got very far. I think that www.pro-flow.com can set something up.

the prices are good, though it's around $675 to less, for the wire,ecm from ford with less headache. Though the theory of his way is the same way theirs works. maf conv.kit +- 675, injetors +- 295-450, throttle body +- 199-250 ; so new could be 1100 to 1400 and up depending on how much power you want, and the ford kit was easy and didn't take but a couple of hours. then again money in the pocket is good!

guzzler, that is indeed a great site to use when doing a MAF conversion. It doesn't have to be followed exactly, but it will give you a good idea of what is involved in the swap. Not everything is needed that he did, such as the new injectors and throttle body, so the cost won't be nearly as high if you just re-use some stock pieces.
I'm sure you could do a MAF swap on a straight six, but the problem is that I don't know if you could find a 6 cylinder MAF computer that would work.

sounds like a good way to get some more emff out of a 302 Where is this kit avalible from, will it work on a 95 5.0l with 5sped?
Is is posible to pull the same type of system of a nother truck that has MAF stock on it and convert it over to 5.0L
If it is worth the time, money and efort as you guys say it is, It might be first on my list of things to do to my truck in the spring
