Just bought a 99 F250 with 70k on it. Yesterday the ABS light came on and hasn't gone off and my overdirve off light flashes but doesn't effect the shifting or going into overdirve. Any ideas?

Does the speedo and odometer work? If not sounds like you need to replace the speed sensor that is on top of the rear differential. Somewhere around 20-25 bucks at the dealer ship.

the speedo and odometer are working fine, i cleaned the sensor on the top of the rear diff. i thought that was the abs sensor.

My neighbor has a 94 f-350 with the 7.3l in it and his O/D light started flashing. He called the local Ford garage and they said that if you count the number of times that it flashes it will tell you what kind of problem that may be happening. Well he counted them and called them back and found out that his tranny was starting to go bad. $2600.00 later it no longer flashes.
