On the driver's side door post. None of that is in the VIN.

Ya, look unter "TR" for the transmission. Here are some codes from a 1988 book. (Can't find the 1989 book...)

T AOD
A T18-4
K C6
E E4OD
M M5OD

Thanks But!

I have no idea which number in my code is the transmission. I have most every letter there in your code breakdown. I was hoping there was a site I could hook up to and check my whole VIN.

Thanks Again!

The transmission code, spring code, paint, trim, interior color, radio, tire and rim size and inflation, and weight information are not in the VIN, they are on the vehicle compliance label which is usually on the driver's door jamb. I realize that your label may be long gone since the truck is at least 15 years old, but it's worth a look.

Again, the tranny information is NOT in the VIN. You need to look at the sticker on the driver's door post under 'trans'.
