difference between years

whats the difference between the 42 -47 p/ups i'm pretty sure mines a 47 but i'd like to find out for sure

If yours is a '47, the numbers stamped into the top of the driver side frame rale in front of the cab will start with 799, if it is a 46 they will start 699, a 45 599 and so on.

I'm not sure about export trucks, but in the states, the wiring exit in the firewall was moved slightly in '47. It was moved to a location a bit higher and closer to the edge of the firewall, compared to a '46. There were was a new part number issued by Ford for the firewall in '47, and I have seen this on a '47 cab I have sitting around. Not sure when the change was made though.
