Here are some pics of the ol' girl. Hope you guys enjoy 'em.
In this one you can see the over-knuckle tie rod location and the crossover steering arm, as well as the new oil filter location just below the alternator peeking out from behind the motor plate. Also notice the dangling shocks that will be completed this weekend. The blue hose is for the rock ram, and will be hooked up after I mount the power steering pump.
I have to weld on a new tab just like this one but the opposite dirction. You can also see where the ram mounts to the tie rod.
Here's the finished header arrangement.
This is the alternator/vacuum pump position. The big hose that plugs into the puke tank will go first to the far side of the vacuum pump, then from the near side of the pump to the puke tank. The current arrangement is temporary.
These two are just a couple of shots to show the layout of the engine compartment in its almost-finished condition.
The upper drivehaft loop will connect the two halves of the no-hop bar crossmember. It used to hit the top of the CV joint. Also notice where I put the starter solenoid.

Hey Scoot,
Who ya gona buy your C6 from? There's a place here in the south, Jackson Racing Tranmissions, and thats all Luke and his crew do.. He has C6s rated for over 500HP for $875 and C6s rated at over 700HP ? I havent checked on a price for the 700HP unit....But I could if you might be interested?
I just thought about that myself If I'am going to get 575+ out of my build? there aint know way in hell my C6 I have in there now will take the HP...It does have a TCI kit in it..but it needs to have the heavy clutches in it and the some..
So with that said.. That will be another 1K+ I have to come up with..
I think you and greg were right! this is not just going to be a 12mo. build!
I think now to get it the way I want... 3 years...
Shoot by then I might be to old to drive it!! YA RIGHT!!!
I think Im going back to sleep its 5am here.. Later, Russ

When you start putting over 900HP to the tranny in a 5000 pound truck it takes a pretty exotic tranny to take it. There are alot of trannys out there that will take big horsepower in a 3000lb car, but this is a different ballgame. I will be getting mine from Jay Broader back east. He has spent alot of time on and off the phone designing just the right stuff for me. It wouldn't be right to switch vendors now.
Also, I am sure you already know the mathematics of high performance. As a rule of thumb, whatever you have invested in your engine, you will also need to invest that same amount in the rest of your vehicle to handle it. Will your existing fuel system feed 550+HP?

That is one pretty setup Brian! I can't wait to see it move under its own power on video. Getting a tranny is going to be pretty tough. It will have to have a hardened input shaft and an E40D planetary and a whole bunch of other special parts that I am sure Jay will find for you. I think you picked a great tranny guy. What kind of transfer case is going to hold up to that much power. You might need to call Dennis Anderson and see what the digger has or the guy who runs Blue Thunder for more Ford specific stuff. They use the C6 in the ford monster trucks. You are only about 500HP short of them and they have blowers and run on alcohol!
