Bed Alignment

I just bought a 2004 F150 XLT Heritage Supercab on 7-5-04, 3 days ago. When looking down the drivers side of the truck, the cab and the bed seem perfectly aligned, but when looking down the passenger side the story is a bit different. Is there a way to split the difference? By loosening the 6 bolts in the truck bed will that allow me to move it and line the bed up better?

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome to the forum
Yes if you loosen the box bolts you can wiggle it around, sideways and front to back, to line it up better.
The bolts may be a bit of a pain to loosen but with some penetrating oil and some sweat you should be able to get it.
Let us know how it goes.

Thanks for all the help, I went out and bought the correct size star wrench, got the bolts loose, and shimmied the bed square. It definitely looks a lot better, but it almost seems as though the bed is about a half an inch too narrow. Now that it is centered neither of the sides are flush, but the difference isn't noticeable unless you were looking for it. It looks much better to me (which is really all that counts). Thanks for the help!

I think it's normal that the box looks a little too narrow.
Good to hear that you got it looking better though

It's good that you got it to work, but if you just bought the thing, and it wasn't right, why not take it back and make them fix it!

I thought about taking it back, but the dealership I got it from is 35 miles from my house. If I took it to them I would probably have to leave it for a while, because I am sure they wouldn't be able to get to it right away, so that meant someone would have to go out with me to bring me home. If that were to be the case we would be looking at three 70 mile round trips. I paid 10 bucks and got a whole set of star wrenches, it woulda cost me around three times that just for gas for the trip. So even though they wouldn't have charged me, it would have cost me more money.

Plus this way I know it was done right.
And I got a set of star wreches.
