Talking Play time!

Alright, so I have about $800 to play with this month. I have a 2003 F-150 5.4L Super Cap Lariat 2wd. I've only added tint, replaced the tail lights, head lights, and muffler so far. With only those mods, what would you do next with that amount of money? It can either be 1 big thing or several smaller.

Thanks for any advice!

Anyone? I'm just looking for general opinions. It doesn't matter if it's performance/audio/visual...really....I just want your opinion of what you would do next if you already had the above mods.

I would wait a couple weeks until the Diablo Predator tuner comes out for your model of truck. It's supposed to come out within the next 2 weeks. That will be around $350 and I'd also get a K&N FIPK or whatever brand you like best... you'll probably still only be at about $550 by then, maybe $600 with shipping. Since you seem to want your truck to look good, you could buy an aftermarket billet grille for your truck, most of the nice non rusting ones are around $200, and then can really make your truck look sweet.

in no particular order:

1. Upgrade the sound system.
2. Intake
3. Bug shield
4. Window vent shades

that's all I can think of right now.....

Question

Hey Rambo, What will make the Diablo programmer better than the Superchips programmer?

As to what LxMan1 asked about the different brands, I've been having chats with Ken a.k.a. Webmaster down in the Tuner forum about them. I called Motorhaven on the phone as well and talked to Ken there. He says the Diablo will give more performance increase than the Superchips, and it also has a new feature that Diablo isn't revealing until the tuner is actually available, but it is supposed to blow away what the competition has to offer. So I figure I'll wait for it

Cool, are they priced about the same or is it going to be a lot more?

They are pretty much the same. If you call Motorhaven directly and order the tuner, Ken will give you a break. I'd make sure to mention something about using the ford-trucks forums, just in case that matters.

It will be around $350 all said and done, and they do free overnight shipping, so you'll get it the next business day if you order it early enough.
