Ignition Module Expert Tip?
One quick question for you experts out there;
Does the Electronic Ign. Module have an "emergency" running mode?
3.0 XL-89
(Or does it simply "fail" when somethings go wrong in there?
What could cause it to "fail" or go into "emergency" mode?)
My "check engine"-light is NEVER on, and NOTHING happens when I hook up for code-reading. No flashing ligt or reading AMP-meter...
Any ideas? Thank You!

There have been cases where the Duraspark modules have failed, and there is nothing you can do but replace it, as it is completely potted inside. The other common failure is the trigger amplifier that's bolted to the side of the distributor. As they get old, they become more sensitive to heat, and will fail when they get too hot. Then they will work again when they cool down enough, then repeat the cycle. The permanent fox for that (after replacing the module) is to bolt them to an inner fender, away from the main stream of hot air. This will require a longer wiring harness.
