brake problems

I have a 92 f-250 4x4 kingcab, longbed, diesel. When I bought the truck the brakes felt really spongey. The brake pedal would sink unless I pumped it up a couple of times. I also noticed my rear end hopping sometimes when I hit them hard. I had my mechanic replace the rear drums, shoes, and wheel cylinders. Then I put on a new booster, master cylinder, calipers and pads. I was told by the local midas shop the front calipers were fried and after I took them off I could tell they were right. With replaceing all this stuff I thought for sure the truck would stop on a dime, but it doesn't. It really doesn't feel any better than it did. My prevous f-250 would stop perfect. My rearend still hops sometimes when I hit the brakes. I wonder if replacing the RAB I proportional valve would solve my problem. I've bled the system several times starting from the rear and working my way through the prop. valve to the front. Nothing seems to work. If I let off the brakes and pump them again they get firmer and firmer like they should feel. Any help would be much appreciated.

If all that stuff has been replaced, and done correctly, your truck should stop on a dime. So something either wasn't done right, or you have a bad part in the brake system. My advice is to take it to a different shop and have them diagnose the problem. It might be as simple as needing a good bleed with a power bleeder.

check the fuse abs. bench bleed the master cyl. next bleed the propotioning valve bleed screw on the valve. then bleed from the furthest brake rear pass, rear driver, front pass, front drivers, if that doesn't work check the speed control sensor on your rear diff. the truck should brake normal if you unplug the rabs computer, fail safe design if it does its the rabs computer. good luck. I would check all of the rubber brake lines. these tend to wear out and stretch when you hit the brakes and when you pump the brakes they stretch as far as they can go and then put all of the force on the cylinders. hope this helps, chrono

I appreciate the advice. I'll try unplugging the vss and checking my rubber lines. I bled everything several times including the prop. valve and nothing helped. I'll give update later. Thanks
