I wish it were that easy. Truck runs smooth as a kitten at normal speeds. Only on acceleration do I run into a problem. I think it's the chip though because I haven't had any problems since I turned it off. I wanted to get it diagnosed from motorhaven, but they're not being very helpful.

I'll figure it out eventually. I'm not freaking out. I think I'm going to dump the chip and get a tuner so I can adjust the tire sizes and gear ratio's. I hear Jegs has good prices on tuners.

quite interesting, hey, if popping the chip works then it seems as though you have found your problem. Best of luck with your tuner, i was looking into one myself, but haven't found anything, let me know what you find.

I think the tuner would be better for me since I'm constantly changing gear ratio's and tire sizes. Then I can simply plug the tuner in and reset the computer so I get the right MPH reading. I'm going to look into it some more. Plus, there are not chips or diodes to burn out with a tuner. Once you re-program your ECM, it's re-programmed. I think I'm going to splurge.

Superchips is just not as strong as Diablo. However Diablo doesn't make a tuner for our trucks so I already called Motorhaven and I'm sending my chip back for inspection.

Your choice. Diablo certainly has good programming. Note that this is a SCT tuner not a standard Superchips tuner. The SCT programming is also very aggressive and in my opinion right in line with the Diablo programming.

What is an SCT tuner? Does SCT stand for Super Chips Tuner?? What is the difference between the "Super Chips Tuner (SCT)" and the standard super chips tuner. Kind of funny actually

I just spoke with a guy overther and that thing seems awsome. Comes with a cd program for your computer that allows you to completely custom tune everything, then download it to the tuner, then upload it to your truck. He said they wont be out for a few weeks and will run between 3 and 400.00 bucks.

I think I want this bad boy.

Yes it's very cool. I already have the tuner and am waiting for the software. Oh by the way SCT stand for Superchips Custom Tuning.

Are they mailing you the software? Let me know how it works for you and if you give it a thumbs up than I'm getting one. where did you buy yours and how much did you pay for it?

I'll let you know about the software when I get it. The base programs kick butt. I paid 425 with shipping for the package and three base programs specific to my truck and computer code (93 perfomance, 87 performance, and 87 fuel economy). I'll give you the vendor web address when I get back to work on Monday. Or you can look up the vendors in FL from the SCT web site. <!-- I purchased from Justin at Velocity Mustang. --> He works alot with 4.2 folks. Nice guy and great service. He had the programer in stock when I ordered it and I had it in two days. The 93 performance tune is far more agressive than the superchips "chip" that I took out. Another big plus is that the tuners doubles as a code reader and if the SES light comes on you can read the error codes yourself.

Take that, apply it to standard F-150s, give more timing/fuel adjustments than listed for the Lightning (enough for nitrous, mild SC, etc). Plus a special tune I can't mention yet.
