I'm the proud new papa of a chip for my Ford PSD. Like most novice installers, I encountered installation problems and had to abort my first attempt of installation because of darkness. Don't try this installation with only 1/2 of day light remaining!
Question: I know I didn't have the contacts clean enough and the chip did not make good contact. After I clean the contacts better and get the chip installed - if I want to return to the original stock condition, can I just unplug the chip?
Yes you can just unplug chip to get it back to stock but I would put clear tape around the chip contacts. Better safe than sorry!
I cleaned my contacts just to the point in which I could start seeing the copper color underneath the silver. Its quite easy and only takes a minute. Make sure that after your done taking off the two coatings you blow out any particles that may be on the computer board(canned air or air compressor)

It's a pretty simple process. I only noticed about 1-2 miles per gallon increase with just the chip but I increased about another 3 with the 3" downpipe and K&N filter.
