Question Check Engine Light

I have a 1995 F-250 with a 351 auto. trans. I recently decided to do some minor mods to improve the performance of the vehicle. It seemed to make sense to do them one at a time to see how they would effect the speed density FI. The first thing I installed were FPP 'shorty' headers. Everything else was left original, including the rest of the exhaust system. The truck runs fine, but now the Check Engine Light comes on after the engine is warmed to operating temperature. This seems like an awfully minor modification to warrant a code, being I retained all original attachments. What gives?

Did you take off the Oxygen sensor by chance?

You can pull the codes yourself with a paperclip, paper and a pen at http://www.broncodata.com/tech/codes.htm you could also goto autozone and they'll pull them for free.

To acerockola77,

Your O2 sensor instincts were correct. I ran the wire again and found it disconnected above the transfer case. Keep up the good work.
