Rust Problems
My 2000 F-250 has 53,000mi and is always garaged and cleaned regularly but,
the tailgate and lower doors are starting to rust up pretty bad. The paint is just flaking off. It's been in Northern Indiana sence new. Is this normal?
I still think of it as being fairly new.

No this is not normal. I have a 2001 F150 and would only wash it every 6 months or spray it down after a snow has melted to get the salt off. Only my chrome tail pipe has rusted. All other surfaces have no rust even the under carriage. Once the rust starts take care of it immediately (sand, prime, and paint) or it will get worse fast.
