Hypertech Vs.Diablo

I'm trying to figure out which is better. I had a hypertech for my old GMC but the diablo sounds pretty good with their custom tuning option. What's the skinny on these things.

I could be wrong but it was my understanding that the 04 5.4 couldn't be chipped. The existing chip has to be reprogrammed. If I'm wrong somebody correct me on this.
