Wheel Help

Hey Guys,
I've had my truck for awhile, but just got the time to replace the old 19.5" Co-OP tractor tires that are on her. Now that it's spring in ND, ( For now ), I'd like to swap them out. Thing is, my wheels are about 19" ! Does anyone else have a set of these and are they factory ?!
My brain hurts just looking at them. Are there any 8 lug 15x10's out there ?
Thanks for your help.

I would search manufacturer's websites, you might be getting into a custom type rim.

check ebay, I believe the pre 97 f-250's and 350's has the same lug pattern? I know the conversion van company's sell steel rims that are 16x7or 8 on there but not sure on size, I just bought a set of eagle alloy's for a newer truck but I would buy another set off ebay. -4speed

U.S. Wheel manufactures quite a few styles of 8 lug truck wheels. You can find them on-line. Salvage yards have a lot of 16" 8 lug wheels in a variety of widths, both new and used; expect to pay $30-45 each. I found some new at my Goodyear dealer for 7.5X16 tires for $47 each. I don't think you will find 8 lug 15". You don't want to end up with too small of a tire circumference, unless you want to gear down your truck. At 4.86, I find mine too low already.

Before you shop, know your bolt circle diameter (6.5"), the hub hole diameter (probably 4-3/4" minimum) and the offset (dimension from the wheel mounting surface to the inner wheel edge).

I have two piece 17-inch 8 lugs on my F3, that I will be selling, including the almost new Coker B.F. Goodrich Silvertown tubulars. Tire shops are shying away from the two-piece wheels, so I am going to go modern. You can see them in my gallery; let me know if you are interested.

Stev8e,
Thanks for the info. I'm not sure if mine are slpit rims or not. I really want the modern wheels also. My tire shop won't deal with the split rims. I'm thinking of 16's.
I was just wondering if anyone has seen these things before? I am going to end up selling them as soon as I get a new set.

lilman:

I seriously doubt that a 15" wheel would clear your brake drums. I just bought a set of Ford 16X7 wheels from ebay. I was glad they cleared the drums on my F3; it was a squeaker. I mounted 265/75-R16 tires. The height is about 31.6", which is about 1.4" shorter than the 7.50 X 17 tires I was running. I think it is a good low buck solution. I paid $100 for the wheels and $340 for new tires

I thought 7.50x17 tires had a height of 32". Mine measure that and my 7.00x17 measure 31". I thought it worked like this:7.50+7.50+17=32. I could see if they would clear the brake drums. I have some off and a 7.5x15 wheel. On our '78 F-250 we had 265/85R16.

I believe that the first number is the width. If a series is stated, such as 60 series, that is the aspect ratio applied to that width. I looked-up my 7.50 X 17 tires in the Coker catalog. It states an overall diameter of 33.5". the cross section listed for this tire is 8.0; perhaps the 7.50 is width measured at the bead.

When looking for tires, I would have like to have found some 265/85R16 tires, but the only 85 series I found were 235/85. That width would be OK, but they only came in an E load rating. That is a very stiff tire for my empty truck application.
