Engine Swap

I have a 78 LTD, or what's left of one. A woman in a Suburban hit me in the rear and demolished the rear. The question is, I recently picked up a 68 F100 with 48000 miles on it. It has a 302 with a C4 (not the original motor). Well the LTD had a 408 with a FMX transmission. Since the motor and transmission are still good from the LTD is it possible to bolt a 408 and a FMX to the truck. Are the mounts the same? I haven't measured yet but I suspect the motor mounts are the same but the transmission might not bolt up. If the tranny doesn't bolt up will a 408 that was bolted to a FMX bolt directly to a C-4.

Also I apoligize if this isn't in the correct forum. Thanks

Can we assume that the 408 is a 400 at .030 over?

You might want to try in the 67-72 forum since you want to know about how the engine/tranny will fit in the truck rather than information on the engine.

408 in a 1968 F100

Mainly my question is will a 408M and a FMX transmission fit right into a 68 F100. Will I have to change mounts or anything. Thanks.
