Starting problems
I bought my 1982 bronco when i got it didn't run. replaced the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, battery, coil, ignition module, ignition switch, starter, turnkey, solinoid, and steering colum. It would turn over great and would start using the key, After a couple of weeks it would stop starting just cranked. Replaced the switch and turnkey it starts now but the starter sticks as long as the motor is running i have no idea what it could be. hasn't been driven. (not road worthy now) please some insight would be greatful

the same thing happened to me every time i'd start the damn the the starter would stick... i tried replacing the solonoid many of time and it fixed it for a little while finally i got a heavy duty solonoid - high amp and it fixed the problem

I went to my local auto parts store (they know me by name thats how much im in there) and they said that it sounded like my solinoid but my starter teeth were all chewed up so im not going to know what it is gonna try the starter first but will let you know.

Ok i replaced the started still stuck open. Replaced the solinoid with a heavy duty solinoid. When connected it turns over with out the key. Second the negitive cable gets hot and sparkes i am at a loss with this one

i had bought a new soleniod for my bronco and after i installed it and reconnected the batt it was turning over without the key. It was a bad soleniod from the autoparts store. if you take a meter and test for continuity acroos the solenoid you should have an open circuit. mine tested closed. NFG. went and got another one. Problem solved.
