Engine Stall
My 86 f150 has a tendency to stall when at idle or low rpm.
I had juet gotten it tuned up to no avail, it seems worse actually.
I place it in reverse, it dies. Drive it dies but runs fine wine on the road.
The mecanic I took it to couldnt figure the problem out.
Bad injectors? Timing off?
Help!!!

Pull the codes. Go to autozone and ask them to pull your codes, its free, when they give you the numbers, go to this site ---------------------> http://fordfuelinjection.com/codes.html see what problem coincides with your code numbers, that should get you in the general area of the problem. The Saga Continues
The family were on our way home frome Shreveport La about 120 miles from Polk, when wee pull to a stop sign and what do you know?
It stall except this time it doesnt restart. Tried jumping, taping the starter nothing but burning out the starter.
So after 2 hours of trying and several other trucks pulling over to try to help(no Fords).
I dropped my pride and my wife called for atow.
Besides another day off, a night in a hotel and renting a car.
I come to find out the I did burn the starter out and that the problem, lets see if I get the name right, Idller air valve,its connected to theintake manifold. It was filled with oil.
After 2 hours of trouble shooting everything else, I didnt trouble shoot an airflow problem.
Well now it idles well doesnt stall, on to the next issu.
The one thing I couldnt stand though was that for 2 hours my truck fell under the Found On Road Dead statement so loved by Dodge and Chevy owners.
If any one is in Shreveport La. and has truck issues I recommend Brawleys Auto Repair. A family owned business with good rates, he knows what he is doing and went out of his way to help me with another part of this situation and Iam deeply greatful.
