flywheel tech

flywheel tech

i need to know what type of truck year engine size etc. runs a flywheel with a 12 inch clutch pattern. my 75 f-250 390ci runs a 11 inch clutch and i am trying to upgrade. tell me if you know it will fit my 390 crank.

some of the 1 tons had 12 in clutches, but they are not real common. realy wasnt a need for them. if you want a big clutch, you might look at the 1 1/2-2 ton trucks. you would need the bellhousing to go with the flywheel. i beleive when i tore my 67 f700 with a 391 in it down it had a 13 in clutch in it

instead of going bigger ,you could go with more clamping force, like a centerforce kit or one of the other ones . that extra inch only translates to an extra 1/2 inch of friction .good luck,bob

My 79 f250 4x4 came with a 12 in clutch and when I rebuilt it last year i went with a centerforce dual friction and I can shoot the driveshaft out of it before the clutch will slip.
