The shift lever coming out of the t-case is completly sealed. When I remove the motor, there is a shaft sticking out that I can turn and engage the 4wd with no problems. The gasket between the t-case and the shift motor is to keep water out of the sensors in the shift motor. I'm not worried about damage to the t-case. I'm worried about driving the truck without the wiring harness plugged in. Will it freak out the computer or something?
