Stop Light Switch??

What is it? what does it do? do i have one? where can i find it?

1)A switch. 2)Turns the brake lights on. 3)Yes. 4)At the top of the brake pedal assy. It is a plastic push button switch with a metal adjusting nut on it.

If your brake lights are staying on it could be because the switch is not engaging when the pedal is up. Try tapping some quarters to your brake pedal were it hits the switch. It could be an expensive fix depending on how many quarters you need!
