250k before needed new motor but granny 4 spd trans. and transfer case are all original with 300k on them. the only reason it needed a new motor was cause it wouldn't pass emissions though.

Red face

Every truck I've owned eccept two have all had the 300 6-cycl. my current 91 F-250 4x4 has 140,000 on it! and it blows smoke out of the return breather hose when I'm working it! which is disconnected and just hanging there!!

im up to 181,500 on the 89 in my sig, i bought it for 1600 bucks with 175k, replaced balljoints, wheelbearings, fan clutch, radiator, master cyl, cap, rotor, plugs, wires, air filter, belt, water pump and oil pan gasket. Oh yea..new tires....and new 2.5" exhaust with no kitties, gutted smog pump and egr removed

since all that its been about 5 thousand trouble free miles of smooth drivin and decent fuel economy for an auto with no OD

its helping keep the miles of my 06....over 100 a day

My 90 F250 had 235K on it, before I deployed. But then I had to take a little trip, to south east, then west asia, then to Colorado, and the truck blew its head gasket, and radiator, and some component on its charging system. So hopefuly this christmas I will be working on it. Other then that, the truck has never given me too much of a problem. Just normal sensors going out after a long life.

Smile 300 I6 mileage...

Had a '76 F150 with 300 and 3.50L rearend, three speed on column...I bought it for $125, tuned it up, and drove it for another 100,000 just to **** off my buds. When it went to the bone yard, it had 286,000 miles and still ran like a wrist watch. Darn salt ate it away...I should've saved the motor, but I did save the rearend!! That went into a '70 Torino GT 429.

I now have a '92 F150 (my first truck newer than a '78) it reads 167,000. Runs like new!!!!!!

280,000 on my van. Bought it new December 1985, been working it since. Rebuild at 197,000, oil pump failure - I think I killed it with Slick 50 sludge buildup. Original C-6 just keeps going. Very reliable vehicle, though it has not always run well. Actually, it ran its worst a couple years after original purchase, but goes nicely now.

My first 300 I bought used had approx 150k according to the old farmer who took the $50, I put it in my 66 F-100 and ran the living bejesus out of it for the last yr or high school, and 6yrs in the Marines. Before they came to haul her away, she had almost 300k on her, I decided I would put her down myself, rather than the crusher, started her up, let her warm, drained the oil, watched the oil pres. drop to 0, and started revving, and revving, AND revving, finally drained the antifreeze, and commenced revving again, holding WOT, revving, did this for about 20 MINUTES!! She would not die, seize, hiccup, squeal, nothing, finally the missus came out said it was time to go for dinner, put fluids back in. Junkyard came in the morning, tow truck driver asks "does it runs" I put the batt in, turned the key, purred like a kitten! He tells me he has been looking for a six for his ol ford truck, might just use this one!!!!
Made a believer out of me!! My 66 F-250 now has a 300, poked .030, with 4bbl Offy/Edlebrock 600, Heddman dual outlets, balanced and she has only 24,000 on her now, seems to runs better every 5k miles!
Once you've had six, you'll never want any more!!!

'93 2wd F-150. Used to be one of our ranch pickups. Now it's my personal one. 233,000 and climbing, and well over half of those are gravel roads or worse.

93 F150, 4x4, shortbed here.... She's up to 141,000 and still purring along. As others have mentioned, it will be the road salt that'll kill this truck before the motor kicks the bucket.

I have a 93 F150 with 130700 miles on it.

Runs good. Has a slight miss that I have been trying to figure out.
Other than that, great truck!!
