Timing

OK, today I am going to fix my timing, because I keep putting it off and forgeting to do it. Before i found out what it was supposed to be set at, I put it at 8-9 Deg. Later found out that it's 10. But what I am wondering, is can I take my timing out to 12, and be ok? Will it mess up the computer at all, or make it run weird.

13, u did that with the chip, or what everthat thing is, disconnect, right? I'll try 13. I'm getting crappy mpg, and I think it might be the timing. I have a custom cam, and I have lighting pistons, for higher compression.

Yes, you need to disconnect the spout jumper. With the higher compression pistons you may experience pinging at that setting. If you do, back it off 2 degrees at a time until it quits pinging.

Ok, I set it at 13-14 yesterday, and noticed more power down low. I'm running 91 oct in it now, but I will see what happens when I got back to my 89 oct. Thanks for leting me know.
