idle problem

My 94 F150 5.0L has an idle problem. When i'm driving and push the clutch in and take it out of gear the engine continues to run at about 2000rpm for about 30 seconds. Then sometimes it will jump from about 1000rpm tp 1800rpm. I put a new throttle positioning sensor in it but no change. Any idea's??

That sounds like an IAC sensor to me. Have you cleaned the IAC yet?

Thanks RTM
I cleaned the IAC with carb cleaner. Their was a lot of carbon in it. It seems to be better. Its not sticking as long and at lower RPM's than before I cleaned it. I checked it with my volt meter and seems ok on that end.Should I cleam it somemore or replace the IAC?

The IAC should measure between 7-13 ohms. I had a bad throttle body. It was sticking. It's more than likely your EGR valve is carboned up as well.
