Red face flexplates
Greetings, I went through the backlog of discussions and could not find any info on what type of flex plate to install on an 1986 F150 that is being converted from manual to automatic. I have seen two types so far the 50 oz and the 28 oz. Does anyone know the type that would fit this application?

What engine do you have? If the engine is not original what year is it?

Yes 1986 302 efi, it had a borg warner 4 speed and im putting a street & strip Pro Com C4 in it..

All 351w and '81-earlier 302 are 28oz imbalance. Post '81 ('82 and newer) have the 50oz imbalance.

ok cool so if I get a plate thats 50 oz and made for a 302 after 1986 I should be set..

No, any flexplate from a 302 '82 and newer will work for you.
