Don't know Dave. Seriously and please don't take this as a smart answer, but you can probably call your dealer's service department and someone there will know. If you can't get keyless you can buy an aftermarket version. Good Luck.
Thanks jobberone, but I've gotten conflicting answers on this so I thought I'd try this forum. I'm not interested in installing it in my truck, I'm wondering if that's what locks my doors when I turn the ignition on, and unlock when I turn it off. Pain in the butt I'd rather not have.
Oh a childproof locking mechanism. I don't know how to disable it but you should be able to figure out how to get around it by looking at your wiring diagram. Good luck. Sorry to be of no help.
Well, according to the '93 brochure, keyless was only a dealer installed accessory. I guess if you have a late 93 it could have it since 94 looks like the first year it was offered from the factory. I looked through the schematics and it looks like a keyless unit (factory or aftermarket) is the only thing that would auto lock the doors.
Look under the dash and see if you have a small black box that is not hard mounted to the firewall or frame. Probably many taped up wires. If so unplug it.
