Which FE to Stroke?

At some point in the future.......
I want to build a Stroker.
It will be much more focused on Low End Power - for my '72 F350 Dually Farm Truck.
As far as the engine to start with, would you choose a '66 352.....OR......'72 360.
The engine will have an Edelbrock Performer Intake, Holley 750 w/Vacuum Secondaries, RV Cam, Long Tube Headers, and C8AE Heads I'll have Wes Adams re curve the Distributor for Low End Power.
It'll have an NP435 4 Speed Transmission.

Thanks for any input.

Use the 360 block. You're starting out with a bore that's already .050 over.

Thanks.
The 360 is already .050 over?
Didn't know that.
I was figuring that I'd punch it out 30 Over.

You misunderstood, the 360 bore started life at 4.050" compared to the 352 at an even 4.0" The two engines are identical otherwise other than piston dimensions.

Personally I'd start with the 352 and bore it to the standard 360 size. Then get standard bore 360 pistons (valve reliefs only), a set of 390-up rods, and a 390 crankshaft.

Anything you do with a 360 will suck. The 352 (stock) will run much better due to piston deck clearance (the piston comes up higher in the bore at top dead center) but pistons are only available in sizes up to +.060.....if the 360 block can be cleaned-up at .010" overbore, use +.060" 352 pistons in it (if you can find them). The connecting rods and crankshafts are the same between the two.

I've built a lot of stroker engines but I've never built a stroker FE engine. With that said the 360 block bored to .030(4.080 bore) with a 4.250 stroke makes a 445 which could be pretty cool.

Start with either block really...each one will take up to 4.11" bore (as a last resort of course) but please do not "build" a 360 with stock replacement parts. You'll hate yourself for wasting the money and time.
