I have remote locking but not remote release. I need a remote with more than 2 buttons first.

I must be misunderstanding something about this tailgate assist piston kit. The way it looks it's purpose is to slow the lowering of the tailgate, is that correct? How does it act on the closing of the tailgate? If anything I'd want an assist closing, gravity is the assist when opening.

@Eman85 You are absolutely correct. The tailgate damper is to slow the tailgate’s opening and has nothing to do with closing.

Yea they just keep them from slamming open. There are still nice. Sometime I will open a buddies tailgate and just let it go like mine and damn thing slams open and sounds like it about to come off. I'm like whoops forgot about that. 😂
But I did ad a electric door popper in mine so I can drop it down with the key fob. The shock keeps it from slamming open whenever I use it.
