Lightnings and Tesla
Over the last 10 days we traded our 2 Tesla 2023 Model Y's in on 2 Tesla Juniper Model Y's. I wanted to take advantage of the $7.5k tax credit before it expired. Also after doing demo drive I experienced the improvements from our 2023 model Y's. We still are happy with our decision to go all EV. See my signature.
Telsa has improved the previous stiff ride with their refreshed/new Juniper Y's, but the Lightning is still the hands down winner as far as ride goes.
Ford needs to do a better job with tech and APPs where Tesla has it beat hands down.
We've had some minor service issues with our Lightning but the the 2023 Tesla's and so far the 2026 Tesla's have been problem free.
With the 2024 Lightning in 6 months of ownership I had some minor issues. Only the first issue is EV specific:

- Charger door flap sticking and needed to be replaced
- Upper control arm Ball Joint nut recall
- B Pillar Keypad failed and needed to be replaced (mobile service)
- Driver door handle Bluetooth antenna failed and couldn't sense the phone. The door handle needed to be replaced (mobile service)
Comparison
Lightning wins in
- Ride Quality
- Roominess
- Pro Power features to power RV or backup power to a house with 240 VAC 30A outlets
- Massive Power Front Truck with 120 v outlets
- Ability for new owners to adapt
- Apple Carplay and Android Auto
- Amazon Alexa integration
- Multiple dealer service centers
Tesla Model Y wins in
- Fuel Efficiency (about 2x as efficient as a Lightning, 3.5 Cents per mile vs 7.0 cents per mile)
- Technology and frequent OTA updates
- Handling
- Easy to park due to size
- Ability to use Apple Watch as a Key
- Reliability of Phone as a Key
- Credit Card format "key fob"
- Dog Mode and Camp mode
- 8 camera Sentry system that can be monitored via app
- Ultra Reliable on the road charge network and integration into the navigation system
Interesting comparison, sounds like you've thought through different aspects on he pros and cons of both brands!
Being honest I'm where close to owning an EV of any brand be it does seem the market and products are weeding out so many parts that would sway someone closer to joining your ranks!

That's a good writeup comparison. I like how Tesla has the cameras act as video surveillance. Ford should do that. It was neat seeing so many people damaging Teslas were caught on the Tesla cameras.
