New SD Owner w/ questions
Hi, I bought a 2003 f250 cc shortbox 4x4, it has the 5.4 engine and I am wondering where are the sparkplugs? sounds crazy but I don't see them. I am also wondering how the limited slip rearend works, also when I turn the **** on the dash to 4wd, is it "true 4wd" or does just one tire up front grab, I normaly leave the hubs in the auto position if this any help.

Under the yellow things on the top of the heads. The plugs use a coil-on-plug system so traditional wires are not present

Search the threads or go to www.howstuffworks.com for a neat explaination with images!

Again, this is has been covered a few times. I say that simply to help you get a larger understanding of it. reading many replies helps. The "simple" answer is that the front diff is an open diff so only one wheels "pulls".

They're under the coils.

Like crap. I think it was a waste of money in mine. Others have had limited success with theirs.

It does not have "lockers" in either dif, but does work like anybody elses 4x4 (stock) It is NOT "all wheel drive". Really its usually just 2 wheels (one front and one rear) doing the work under limited traction conditions. Leaving the hubs in "auto" is S.O.P.. You can manually lock them if you wish (or if the "autos" fail).
