Here's a rarity ---- 2003 6.0L (unmolested) now heading to the 200,000 mile marker. (It really should have come apart (e.g. stretched head bolts, blown gaskets, blown HPOP, etc) , completely blown up by now, but it just won't die)
CAT oils, ELCs, and "above and beyond" maintenance, NO BULLETPROOFING.

Purchased "Hulk" with 33k miles in July, now has 36k on him. Have 3 other vehicles with different jobs, therefore low miles... Try not to laugh:
A 16' 2004 Chevy Express boxtruck, named Red Beast
A 2002 Jeep Wrangler with the works, named American Bulldog
And... a 2010 Prius, named uhh . . mouse

New to the site. Wish I had found you folks many years ago. Have a 99 250 Crew Cab with 315000+ miles on it. Is in the shop right now for a complete front end rebuild and alignment. New tires are next up before the new year if all works out. Do not have a performance chip in this truck. It has enough power for what I need on the farm, plus it averages 18+ miles per gallon. Items I have replace, or had replaced: All 4 door locks, both front seat covers (bottoms), numerous dashlights(involved pulling dashboard), power steering return line, 2 alternators, 2 water pumps, rebuilding the window lift motors (water soaked). Oh and this is the second front end rebuild. The first was at 175,00. Have had the cam position sensor go out at least 3 maybe 4 times. Always carry a spare with a 10mm box wrench. I told my wife if this truck were totaled in a wreck; I would begin the search for another 99-2003 Super Duty. Remembered I had the torque converter replaced at 200,000 due to excess I've noise. Which, by the way, I was told was MUCH cheaper to replace than the entire transmission. Sorry to have rambled a bit, but I am proud of how this truth has held up. Oh! and I don't own a garage for it to be out of the weather. I look forward to learning much more about my 250 through reading your years of posting first hand accounts. Thanks..The Capt
