cold trans problem

hi guys,

since i had my AOD trans rebuilt in my 90 cougar it has been fine. but now with colder weather, when car is still cold, i get a slight slippage in changing from first to second, also the first few stop signs or red lights i stop at, the trans seems to disengage for a second or two. when car gets hot, i have no problems at all.
what could this be?

I barely get a fluid reading when cold, but hot it shows in operating range.
should i add fluid to he trans while cold so i get a reading???

any input is appreciated

Hi greeneye150,

Check to see if the proper trany fluid is being used.

May also need a band readjustment or just may be new part stiffness.

I'm with wolfen on that.
Might be wrong fluid.
There are a few types of tranny fluid.
and you are supposto check your fluid at operateing tempature.
But it seems od to get nothing when you check while cold.
