Well, found the cause of my problems.

WTFH?!?! Water in my fuse box cover! - Ford Truck Enthusiasts Forums (ford-trucks.com)

Not to minimize your situation.

Trout fishing with Dad and son is a blessing.

Vehicles come and go.

Don't let the rust ruin your fishing trip.

It will be there when you return.

The trip was wonderful. Not ruined at all. The truck issue was a momentary emotional frustration, that's all.
