It was a big thing in the 70's in NY around Cayuga Lake to go lake trout fishing. The wind up players were modified to hold fishing line so that the anglers would not have to wind up over 100 ft of line by hand.
A son turned a floor model into a liquor cabinet after the previous owner took the workings out.

Good Monday, on a Tuesday, morning Md.

Bud, my grandmother had an old "crank" style floor model "Victrola" like that. I sure wish I know what happened to it.

Morning World and collectors everywhere. Even tho that's a stock photo of a radio that you have it's great you still have an use it, Ken ! Does YOURS look that good too ?

Nice day today...upper 70's. Happy Memorial Day ! Actually every day should be a memorial day, not only to those that served in the military but also to those that served from the home front.

Actually...mine does look that good...the only issue is with the cardboard backing...it got wet and warped...trying to find an authentic replacement. It does get used every morning...listen to the local AM station.

Good morning guys,

It's cool you guys still have some of the old radios and record players. I can't say that I have any collectables at this point.

AM radios are probably becoming collectable at this point. I'm hearing that some of the new cars are going to come without AM radios, I'm not sure our new car has AM radio. I know it doesn't have a CD player.
