Hey, All... Been a while . My question is about an Engine Swap.
Can a 97 7.3 diesel in front of an automatic be changed out and put into a 96 7.3 with a standard shift transmission.
Someone told me that the automatic transmission engine had no pilot hole drilling for the standard shift main shaft. You help would be greatly appreciated.

Uh, not sure where they heard that. Yes the motors will swap between the transmissions.

For future lurkers, the pilot bearing is pressed into the flywheel for the manuals and all cranks are drilled for the torque converter hub.
