This will be interesting to check when the 2022 trucks start to show up. One of these sources is obviously not accurate.

between the two, I would trust the body builder guide.

what is the difference that the 2022 manual shows that differs from the 2021 and under, did they give us 3 inches instead of 2 in the passenger compartment?

Does not specify that issue. Just shows all the wires under passenger battery including the pass thru wires. They would have to be around five feet long to do that but they could still have two inches at the kick panel.

It's the same relay box used on the '20 and '21 conventional Super Duty.

Just FYI, just traded by 19 F250 diesel Lariat Sport for a new 2021 F250 diesel King Ranch FX4. I had my radar detector on upfitter switch #1 in my 19 and wanted to do the same for my 21. The upfitter relays are on the 21 are on. the passenger side, super easy to find. Just lift the relay box off the battery box and the wires are right there.

Then I started the hunt for the pass thru wires. I read in several places to take battery and battery box out and possibly the wheel liner. Took the battery out, and started fighting the battery box after taking the 4 bolts out. Wouldn't come out. Then, I looked at the wheel liner, and gave up on that idea. Crawled under the truck and looked up toward where the grommet is, and could see the passthru wires. Lo and behold they were laying just under the relay box, very close to the upfitter box and wires. Once I knew what I was looking for, was able to easily reach in pull them out from the top. There was probably enough wire to connect them, but I went ahead and added about 6" of wire. I could have done it without removing anything other than the upfitter relay box.

Inside the truck, I pulled the passenger kick panel. Started to pull the big black cardboard cover, but before I did, I pulled the cover off the right end of the dash that has the vent in it. Could see the wires, and was easily able to fish them out. A little tight, but was able to solder my leads to my radar detector and route them up to the mirror.

I probably spent 3 hours fooling with this, but knowing most of this was not necessary, could have done the whole thing in 30-45 minutes.

Will do my son's 21 Tremor tromorrow. Hopefully will go just as easy.

In each of the 3 pics below, I'm pointing to the wires.

My son's 2021 F250 gas Tremor was exactly like mine. Pulled the upfitter relay box, and the passthru wires were right there, just behind the box, close enough to connect them directly, but I still put a 6" piece of wire between them to make it easy to pull the box in the future. Inside, pulled the kick panel and the right dash panel and the passthru wires were easily found. 30 minutes start to finish to connect/solder cables.

So, didn't have to pull the battery, battery box, wheel well liner, cardboard cover under the dash, etc. Piece of cake.

And the little slider thing that makes 5 & 6 hot at all times is unchanged?
I am unclear as to "right dash panel" put when the truck gets here I'll shove my head under there and figure it out. Fortunately I have long, skinny hands.

Here's a pic of the right side dash cover. Put a screwdriver where my finger is and pry it out far enough to get your fingers in there and pull it off. To pull kick panel, just grab it in the front (toward firewall) and swing it open. Comes right off.

You sir, win the internet for today. I had never even thought of pulling that cover. It seems I'd much rather cut my knuckles and burn my hands.

I owe you a beer. Or 4.

Cheers
