I've heard that it is possible to set the OD on the automatics so whe you start the truck up it is defaulted to start out with OD off.
Has anyone else heard of this?
From what it sounds like to me it is a simple thing to set, much like the seat belt minder. So if anyone has heard of this how is this done?
I was looking for info about the Overdrive PB on my 99 F250 LD (posted in the Transmission Section) and ran across an outfit that sold an aftermarket part to do what you want it to do, that is, default to the OD OFF position on startup. I saw it doing a Yahoo search for my E40D tranny. Unfortunately, I can't remember the company name. I'll try and locate.
Monsta ,Maybe if you tow alot and leave the trailer connected and forget to switch it off.
This for vehicles a few yrs ago that said not to tow in overdrive.
