Electrical issues

I just purchased an 05 Excursion Limited 4x4 V-10. This is to replace my 02 with 313k miles, so I know a little bit about these trucks. Anyway, the new one has a Pioneer head unit, aftermarket speakers, a JL amp and some sort of sub woofer in the console. It also has LED lights which have what look to be transistors of some sort mounted to the inside of the front bumper. I am not a big tech guy or sound system guy, so my son was figuring it out and the battery died after 15 minutes. So I charged the battery, then took it for an extended drive to get it some more charge time. Went to Menards to get some supplies and came out aftrer an hour or so and it started hard, meaning it cranked ok, but seemed like it was having fuel delivery issues. My question is, could this be related to all the extra electronics drawing too much power? Sorry for the long story, just want to get this to where I can trust it Thanks in advance!

It absolutely could be. Amps/subs can fry all sorts of stuff if not properly installed or too big for the electrical system to keep up with. First thing I would do is check the voltage at the battery while it is running with all the stereo and lights off.

As far as I can tell, you can't turn the stupid thing off! Looking into replacing all the aftermarket junk with stock. Hopefully won't cost too much!

At a minimum you could disconnect the amp and retest. That is likely the biggest draw.

The amps should have trigger wires that wake the map up when there is a 12v signal on them, which comes from the head unit once turned on. You can usually see a status or alive light on the amp when they are awake. In some cases, not very popular anymore there maybe a capacitor on the amp voltage supply. I have this on my system from way back, it's a 1 farad, and is wired after the circuit breaker, as long as that's on, it stays charged which means it's constantly sipping battery power if I l;eave the breaker on. Not a problem if the truck is driven regularly.
