Help with VIN decoding

Hi
Would someone be able to decode this VIN for me? There's no paperwork in the cab except for a few maintenance notes stating it was built in 1977, but I'm hearing it's newer than than. Thanks

That's not a valid VIN, go read this:

Thanks, I’ll crawl under the truck when I can. This is an honest question, this tag is on the drivers side door jamb. Is this the VIN number listed on here

or something else?

Yes it is.
Thing is you said "77" and this is 80 to 86 truck area so that could be why Chris said what he did?
Most of the time in the upper left corner gives month & year but I am not seeing it on your sticker so don't know the year to start with.

You should be able to tell what kind of truck it is by the way it looks. If it was built in 77 it will look different. Just use google images to figure that part out by looking up a 77 truck and see if it looks like yours. If it is indeed a 77 truck just head over to the dent side guys and they will help you

This looks like it would be some help. Right away in this link I see 1FD is a chassis cab truck. N is a class 6 19,501-26000lbs. Don't see the F60. H was a 351w engine. H is 1987. I think I messed up along the way but you should be able to figure it out by the link below.

I looked up the part number that was at the top of the sticker and this came up: https://www.ebay.com/itm/1980-Ford-9...p2047675.l2557
Thought that was interesting.

According to the Ford 17 digit VIN decoder here:

https://vincheck.info/check/report-summary.php

It's a 1987 F600. 370 gas V8,

Due to the age and he decode source, there isn't any other info on that site. You could look for other 17 digit decoders or try Ford direct.

If you have more questions about the truck, repairs, running gear, etc, I suggest we move you to the Large Truck forum.

Those big trucks did use a pickup cab, so you could use it on a 1980-up pickup frame. There may be some differences in the floorboard/firewall area since some of those have different braking systems on them.
