Engine swaps
Hello all new to the forum. Has anyone here done or know if a big block ford... say a 460 will work with a 2004 f350 sd or would I need to have motor mounts fabled up?? As far as the transmission what company/s sell adapters to make the 5.4 work with a big block?
any insight would be greatly appreciated... also if not a 460 maybe a 5.4dohc.

Might want to try again because it isn't clear what you want. I'm guessing you want to put a 460 in a 2004 model truck, using the current truck transmission. Anything can be done but you are going to have a hard time having a dinosaur tell an electronically shifted transmission what to do among a host of other issues. Motor mounts are the least of your worries. I'm not going to venture very far out on the ledge and say this will never happen, but hey, who knows.
BTW, Ford didn't make a "big block" they did make a 385 series engine though, i.e. 370, 429, 460 CID <-- A technicality but there are purists here....

Thanks... im looking to put a 460cu in the 04 f350... not thinking of a carburetor thinking of an aftermarket fuel injection setup. One that will be able to control transmission... ie. Haltech etc. Getting the engine to sit and line up is my biggest concern
