Question Engine Questions

Hey guys, I am relatively new with stuff so i got a few questions for ya, whats a better engine, 351m or 351W, what are the differences and what are the factory specs of an 89 351W. People keep telling me that winsors are crap and i got nothing to say back to them to shut them up because i really am not familiar with them, thanks

Ive had both engines. I had a 351w in an 84 truck that I once pumped up to about 133mph on the freeway (whow), but I didn't like the engine at all, it was VERY moody.

The 351m has more potential because it can be built into a 400 with just a change of crank and piston, which is a very good engine. Look around more in the Cleveland and Windsor engine forums for more information on the engines instead of here in the Bronco forum, trust me, this subject has been BEATEN TO DEATH!

Lol. Anyway, good luck.

The major difference is that the 351w is technically a small block engine and the 351m is a big block engine. Parts and accessories for the 351w are more readily available as a general rule. The 351m had a relatively short production run compared to the 351w. The "modifieds" are met with mixed reactions. Many will refer to them as 351 "junk"ified. While some will swear by the M's performance.
