Front diff. seals.

82 F-150 4x4 Is it possible to replace the diff. seals on the front axles without removing the entire drive unit. By just pulling the axles? Thanks Webster

If I'm wrong here, somebody please speak up - but - I believe you can change those seals by simply removing the pinion flange and "hooking" the old one out with a seal puller and driving a new one in with a littttle hammer and a block of sooooft wood.

Of course; ALL the books say if you loosen the pinion nut for any reason great care (and often replacement parts) is called for to make sure the pinion preload is not altered.

HTH.
