Description:

Very rare Manual transmission 3rd Gen Explorer. Lots of recent repairs and maintenance. Loved driving this SUV, but I've gotten too tall to drive it safely. It's great off-road with Limited Slip front and rear differentials and a short wheelbase.

Good:
Engine was replaced at approx 135,000 miles. Clutch flex plate, friction disc and slave cylinder were replaced at the same time.
Catalytic converter was replaced at the same time as engine.
Radiator, water pump, thermostat housing, fan clutch, and fan also replaced at approx 150,000 miles. Have not had any issues with the cooling system since.
I upgraded to power heated front seats, using Ford parts and a custom wiring harness - I will include parts to revert to manual seats if you want.
Heated mirrors
Anti-Lock brakes
Remote entry
Cruise control and stereo buttons on steering wheel.
Matching spare wheel, not a plain steel rim.
Front tow hooks.
Pre-wired for brake controller.
2" trailer hitch with 7-pin RV connector and 4-flat connector

Bad:
Leaks oil from the valve cover gaskets onto the header, and smokes a little. I've replaced the PCV valves, valve covers and gaskets, all with no results.
Will need rear wheel bearings - very common failure on this era of explorer.
Has aftermarket sunroof, and the headliner is in really rough shape due to the installers.
Needs tires.
Hatch got backed into before I bought it - still opens and shuts and seals.
Mis-matched bumper due to an off-roading misadventure and the junkyard not having the right matching one.
Driver's door switch needs replaced - Door Ajar light is on. Interior lights/door chime and alarm misbehave due to car thinking door is always open.

Price is OBO.
