Can’t get CD # 6 out of radio. Keep getting “CD ERROR”. Before I pull the radio and take it apart to physically remove the CD I was wondering if there is some magic electronic way to do it. Any help would be appreciated.
Somebody else may chime in with some greater knowledge, BUT... My 6 CD changer in my 2003 EX did the same thing a few years ago and I DID have to remove it and take it apart. The trouble with these and the DVD changers is that the transports are made partially of plastic parts and have a limited life... Which I'm guessing you have reached the end of as well. The rest of the electronics is probably fine, but your changer is probably breaking down from years of wear and heat in the car.

BTW: Sometime back I found a new transport for my DVD at replacementradios.com. I just checked their site under "cd changers" in the left hand column, but really couldn't tell whether any of them were correct for ours... If you are interested in repairing it yourself, you might call them and ask if they have (or might get) the right one. It may be a long shot, but worth a phone call.

I have the same things, also with a 2003 Excursion. I'm flirting with a double din radio replacement and looking for ways to retain or update the Rear Entertainment System (We have 4 boys ranging from 13 to 4).
