The larger opening front fenders came on various trucks depending on if they got the larger wheels from the factory or if they were 4x4 or F350. So Dennis Carpenter and NPD are not wrong. The smaller opening fenders came on most F100/250 2WD trucks. 1962 is very similar with the 17.5 and 19.5 inch wheels getting the larger opening. So, it has less to do with 100/250 Series of truck than it does about wheel size.
Yes they are the larger opening wheel wells. {350 clip) Gives more room to run some bigger tires than what is on there now. I acquired a few extra sets since the vintage parts are disappearing. That clip is meant for a mock up. I was going to use the smaller fenders but now that I see what it looks like it changed my mind.
