Engine Update
Hey Gang:
I have been laying low for a while with the new baby, snow and all, but wanted to give the latest developments over the last couple of days. Dropped by my favorite machine shop on Friday and deposited the .606 over 360/390 block as well as a "beat" crank and a handfull of rods. Rob gave me a call Tuesday night around 8pm, what a guy! The block has a little tapper to it but should be good to go with just a hone. Great new for a cheap b@$t@rd like me... After about 30 minutes on the phone, we also put together the goods to make a solid short block with parts right from his shop. We did some combined effort work and came up with a cam and timing set that saved me around $90 over my initial plan. Decided to spend that on new pistons.. I should have all the goods in place within the next week or so, I will keep you updated.
Looks like I will be after an intake and carb come swap-meet time!

Mike,
Way to go! What progress!
My FE project is on hold. My daily driver is getting all the attention and $$$ for a while. I'll have my 67 352 and Cruise-O-Matic for sale at the swap meet. I've had so much fun tearing this one down that I look forward to doing it again and then doing the buildup like you.
See you at the swap meet.

New to the forum, first post. I've followed a few of the old posts that mentioned Blue Oval Performance in Englewood. It seems a few of you have used this shop. I have a 460 I'm about to work over and was considering using Rob. What do you all think? Any feedback greatly appreciated. Matt

Thanks Broncr. A staight six man huh? I had an 82 Bronco with the six. Great engine, but mine was really tired. I pulled it and put in a 351w. That's when I first used Heads by Paul. I had no problems with them but Rob over at Blue oval seems to really know his Fords. Thanks again for the info.

Absolutely, The six is a way better truck motor than the 302. I loved by six, I only sold the truck because everything else was falling apart. I actually sold it to a buddy of mine who pulled the motor out and is running it in his f-150. I don' have any delusions of gas milage with the 460. (taht's what subaru's are for)
