A little story!
When I was growing up in the 60-70s, we had a restaurant called the "Bobcat" named after the school mascot. In Hamlin, West Virginia and the home of General Chuck Yeager.
Paul Newman came there before the shooting of Cool Hand Luke for a few days to prefect his dialect for the movie.
As I grew up we and many families would eat there from time to time. After school many of us kids would stop and sit at the fountain counter and have a snack.
At the end on the 20 some foot counter was a table with a black marble top. you could sit 8 people there and it was within arms reach of the coffee pots. It was known as the lairs table.
Even then and looking back there were older retiring or retired men sitting at the table. Also in rotation were other working or business men passing through for a cup of coffee and conversation.
Fast forward to about 2013 in Milton, West Virginia about 20 miles from Hamlin and a restaurant called Shonett's now and formerly Granny K's. Shonett worked there and purchased it some years ago.
I get and hour for lunch and go there because the food is good and I can get a variety of dishes. After meeting some people in the store and then meeting them at Shonett's. I started siting a large round table (that has seated 10) with many of those people. Some would be there and others come and go within the hour.
Well one day while sitting there and someone called it the "Table of Knowledge" I came to a realization! That is a sad commentary that I am now sitting at the "Lairs Table" in another town. I am now one of "Them Old Farts" like back home. As I sit there I also realize the it Is truly not a lairs table or table of knowledge but a table of BS!!
Sadly I find I spew as much BS as anyone there! LOL

It's been out for awhile now Ken but got doing other things before getting on here. Very windy here today and white out conditions at times. Might even be a few flakes falling but kind of hard to tell..

Our Sunday morning haunt is a place called Denny's Pantry...been there for a long time...they move tables to accommodate large parties...sometimes we'll just invite other parties to join us...that's made us some new friends over the years. Nothing wrong with being one of "Them Old Farts"...beats the alternative.
We have new people sit with us as well.
