F450 Oil Chnage- No request by vehicle to do so??

So i have had 4 new ford trucks in the last 5 years. I know how the oil change reminder/oil life screens work. I have 7400 miles on my truck now and I changed my oil because after 7400 miles of almost exclusively hard towing ( 31K GCVW) the truck has not once told me it needed a oil change. Also once I changed the oil I browsed though every single menu on the dash and have found NOTHING about oil life or a way to reset it. Are 450s different than the rest of the SD lineup or is the menu hidden until it needs to be changed or am I just a blithering idiot??? (more than likely the case)

With heavy towing on mine the oil change reminder came up before 5,000 miles had elapsed after the last oil change. A lot of my towing was in the mountains.

There is a screen to reset the accumulated miles on the oil. In the system section of the menu I think.

Far right menu under truck and system I think. All there is a reset, I wonder if you missed the 1000 mile warning and the change oil now alerts they would have come up on hte main screen and you just press OK button and they go away. Sometimes with door ajar and other notices they get missed. Warning at 500 mile or so is yellow, change oil now is red dialogue boxs that come up on the centre screen. So many messages they are easy to miss.

If you have Ford Pass capability then you should be able to see. % oil life.

I haven't tried FordPass in a few months. It was so flaky that I stopped trying. It would never connect.

I've been told to change the oil at 8k, 8k, 6500, and 10k by my truck. There's not always a warning. The first three oil changes gave no warning, just an "Oil Change Required". No "soon" warning. Then suddenly this last time I got a warning. I suspect you'll get the message soon.

The OCI on the 450 should be similar to a 350 and 250. You can expect up to 10,000 mile OCI's give or take. It's a 13 quart sump and that buys the PSD a long OCI.

I would recommend changing the oil sooner than later to help get some of the break in debris flushed out.

I tow a lot and the OCI messages start in about 6000 miles--keeps ragging on me at startup with the yellow windows, then a red one. Only got the red one once, rest I have changed before any messages or after the yellow warning started.

So the 2019 now have the % of oil life left on the screen. I wonder if it’s something the dealer can add for the 2017-18’s?

If they do, I haven't found it on mine yet. I only see it on Ford Pass.

I just change at every 5K and not worry about the computer telling me.

If you have a 2019 go to where you reset your oil life.

Well what do you know? FordPass actually worked today and reported the correct mileage and an oil life %. I should buy a lottery ticket.

I tow a 16K+ 5th wheel. I changed oil the first time at 9400. Half of those miles were towing.
After first oil change OCI came on after about 9500 additional miles. Oil analysis came back
as normal for first oil change.
